Sample French Riviera (Côte d’Azur) Yacht Charter – St. Tropez to Portofino (10 Days)

Join your yacht in St. Tropez, the international tourist mecca that has played a large part in the renown of the whole Côte d’Azur. In this almost mythical destination everything is famous: the beaches of Bouillabaisse, Caneliers, and Salins are amongst 40 on the peninsula; the Place des Lices where movie stars and local stars get together to play a game of boules or sip Pastis under the plane trees; and of course the leather Tropéziennes sandals that everyone seems to wear!

Settle in, review your itinerary and discover the St. Tropez way with its glitz, beautiful people and bounty of nightlife. Overnight.

After breakfast cruise around the headland to the famous Pampelonne beach (1.5-2 hrs). Take a swim and enjoy the sun before lunch, either on board or at Club 55, a fabulous venue to see and be seen. Later, enjoy the stunning scenery and clear waters as you cruise up to Ile de Porquerolles to anchor overnight (a 4.5 hour trip).

After a leisurely breakfast, go ashore for a walk or explore the network of caves along the stunning island coastline before your yacht heads over to the islands of Iles d’Hyeres. There are many picturesque places to anchor that are ideal settings for dinner. Leave during the night to cruise to Cannes (6 hours).

Awake in cosmopolitan Cannes. The old town of Cannes has beautiful cobbled streets, where you will find some fine food products and an abundance of trendy boutiques. Enjoy lunch at The Carlton before continuing your walk along the picturesque streets. Dinner on board or ashore.

After breakfast cruise to glamorous Cap d’Antibes (1.5 hours). The Cap d’Antibes has become known as the epitome of luxury on the Riviera, home to the rich and famous.

Leave after lunch for a two hour cruise to Villefranche. In the afternoon, take a taxi up to the famous town of Eze. Enjoy a walk around this charming hillside village. For a spectacular dinner visit Chateau de la Chevre d’Or, a five-star resort and restaurant atop the mountain which affords an extraordinary view of the ocean and surrounding countryside.

Wake early to a delicious breakfast and stroll around the charming fishing village of Villefranche. Later, walk or taxi up to St. Cap Ferrat for lunch. Spend the afternoon touring the magnificent Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. Precious artworks, tapestries, and furniture adorn the salons – in typical Rhothschildian fashion, with each room decorated in a specific “ancient regime epoque.” Allow plenty of time to also wander in the gardens. They are one of the few places on the coast where you’ll be allowed to experience the lavish pleasures of the Belle Époque Côte d’Azur. There are no less than seven themed gardens (she liked to collect). The extraordinary ensemble reigns over a hilltop at the crest of the peninsula, taking in spectacular, symmetrical views of the coastline. Return to the yacht for a late cruise toMonaco. Spend the evening viewing the Principality and the famous casino before enjoying dinner on board.

Awake in Monaco. After breakfast, wander around the tropical gardens with its Japanese garden and tour the Grimaldi Royal Palace. If time permits, you may also wish to tour the famous Cousteau Oceanographic Museum. Relax and enjoy dinner at the Louis XIV Restaurant, weather permitting. Alternatively, dine at the exquisite Café de Paris.

In the morning cruise to San Remo with its vibrant palm fringed esplanade (2.5 hours). Enjoy lunch and a walk along this playground for the rich and famous.
